Still going to bite my fingers off if I go wash them?
[Probably kind of rude to sneak a bite of Kurama's snacks with some, ah, Kurama still on his hands.]
no subject
Besides. Let the image burn into Therion's memory, his pretty red fox with sleepy warmth in his expression and his soft pink tongue laving over his palm.]
No need to bother.
[He says between licks, like a brat.]
no subject
He can still wait it out, but man, Kurama's got to make it hard, doesn't he. Therion needs to clear his throat before he speaks again.]
...If that's good enough for you.
[He pops open the container with his other hand and flicks away the lid.]
I want some of your tofu.
no subject
[He says, cracking the obligatory thief jokes even as he finishes sucking on each fingertip and pulls back delicately, looking highly self-satisfied even amid his dreamy satiation.]
Go ahead. Tell me if you like it. I promise I won't snatch a bite out of your mouth, unless you ask me to.
no subject
You want half?
[He pops the corner into his mouth and chews, curious.]
no subject
[He's watching Therion's face as he tries the treat, content to see how he likes it first before opening his mouth and silently demanding to be fed.]
no subject
[Seems he does like it, once past the initial strangeness of it--kind of sweet, but not as sweet as sweets are, and squishier fare than he'd find on most Orsterran streets. His eyebrows rise as he considers the flavor, but yes. It's good.
Then he sees what Kurama's doing and has to cover a laugh with the back of his hand.]
Aren't you a fox? Not a baby bird?
[Still, he obliges, a chuckle still curving the corners of his eyes as he brings the other half of the inarizushi pouch to Kurama's mouth with exaggerated delicacy.]
no subject
[It is with the utmost dignity that he nibbles at the corner of his treat, right up until the point where it's obvious that a rice-stuffed tofu pouch really isn't made for nibbling and he just goes after the whole thing at once.
Suddenly he more closely resembles a squirrel than a baby bird, with the half-pouch making his cheeks bulge, but he'll accept the minor indignity in favor of still not using his hands, because he's being lazy and that is the nature of his indulgence right now.]
Though I must say that if you're out to spoil me, you're succeeding admirably.
no subject
Does it matter what I'm out for? What's important are results.
[He still looks plenty pleased with himself as he opens his beer can. Pop tops, weirdly satisfying. He likes the noise they make.]
no subject
[He pauses a moment, seeming to reflect on that offhand remark, while the beer sizzles and hisses as the pleasant pop of the can opening fades away.]
Or maybe you would. Who's to say?
no subject
[He puts the inarizushi container on Kurama's chest for maximum convenience for both of them. Deal with it.]
What I really meant was, does it matter what I'm trying to do if you like it, right now? Don't make it more complicated than it is.
no subject
Also, it's awfully convenient for dipping his hand in and snagging another pouch, which he does. Delicious.]
...Your thoughts matter to me. That doesn't change, whether you choose to share them or not.
no subject
[Therion just looks at Kurama over his can of beer. He has no idea what to do with that, clearly, even after his gaze slides away.]
...I like you, is all it is.
[What an absurd thing to have to admit, half-lying on Kurama like he is amidst the things he brought, the air still scented with sex. He runs the side of his thumb up and down his beer.]
It's not about spoiling anyone. Just figured... it'd be a couple fewer things to give yourself a headache over.
no subject
[He lets him have his space a minute, watching his gaze drift away, and doesn't press it. Not for a moment. Not for a heartbeat.
But then he reaches up and takes him by the chin, tipping his face back and down as he leans up himself to catch his lips in a kiss that tastes of tofu and hops.]
I like you too. That's why I make things complicated.
no subject
Wishful?]
...Would you tell me if you didn't?
[He blinks, as if he weren't expecting to hear that thought aloud, then shuts his eyes, grumbles quietly at himself, and noses his way into the crook of Kurama's neck.]
Never mind. That's not a fair question to ask. [Since he'll just hear the answer that makes sense to him--or the one he wants most. No in betweens.] Just a hard habit to get back into.
no subject
[But he doesn't press for the moment; he lets Therion hide away against his neck like he wants to, petting him softly and offering what comfort he can as they just hold still and stay close together for a while.]
And I press you to talk because I like the sound of your voice.
no subject
My Moonblessed.
He makes himself comfortable again, winding one arm under Kurama's neck so he can lie there on him and still hold the book for reading.]
I won't do this long. Wear my throat out like this. You can take over when you finish the tofu.
[He turns pages for a moment, looking for the start of the actual story, and begins without preamble. Or author's notes. Heathen.]
Chapter One. Hi, my name is Ebony Dark’ness Lyestella Basti Wave, and I have long, ebony-black hair, that’s how I got my name...
